The case against credit card issuing companies includes the elimination of usury laws, extraordinary interest rates, and high charges for various things, largely late payments.

If you have bad credit then get a prepaid credit card to help yourself get your credit back on track. With a prepaid credit card you can get one no matter what your credit history is, or your job history. There is no need to check anything to get a prepaid credit card. The only requirement is to give a deposit. Any amount and that will be your credit limit.
